Introduction

Welcome to the
Housing Options wizard

This tool will ask a series of questions and then guide you through the different options you can explore to enhance your housing situation.

This site is shared between the following local housing authorities; Broxtowe Borough Council, Gedling Borough Council, Newark and Sherwood Distrct Council and Rushcliffe Borough Council.  It is therefore essential that when prompted you select the correct local housing authority from the list provided as some assistance options require a local connection.

Why not just wait for a Social Housing tenancy

Social housing is in great demand which can mean often there are long waits for accommodation to become available and therefore this may not be the most suitable options to address your current housing need.. There are over 5,000 people on the housing register in Broxtowe, Gedling and Rushcliffe, and approximately 2,800 in Newark and Sherwood and with only a limited number of properties becoming available for allocation every year it might be that you need to give consideration to a number of other housing solutions.

The housing options contained within this housing advice wizard willl give you some alternatives to social housing that may make it easier and quicker for you to move house or to meet your needs while staying in your current home.
